What is Radiesse?
If you haven’t heard of Radiesse, it’s our newest biostimulator. This means that it promotes your own collagen and elastin to fight the signs of aging. It can improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, skin texture, and skin laxity.
Unlike traditional fillers, Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) particles suspended in a water gel rather than hyaluronic acid (HA). It typically lasts longer because it boosts your own collagen and elastin production while also filling in the treatment area.
The FDA approved Radiesse as a facial filler in late 2006, and people have been using it as a volumizing filler ever since. What to Expect From Your Radiesse Collagen Boost
With Radiesse, you get tighter, smoother skin with reduced horizontal neck lines. Your skin will look less crepey and more youthful. These natural-looking results often last for more than a year.
You will see some results immediately, although this treatment usually takes about 3 sessions to see the best results. It’s worth it – it lasts longer than traditional fillers! After a year or two, though, you will still need a touch-up treatment to maintain your results.
Most people will see their best filler results a couple of weeks after treatment. Skin laxity will improve over the next 3-6 months as your collagen production ramps up.
Like with other fillers, we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and blood thinners for the first two days or so after your treatment session. You may look swollen for a few days, but those side effects should go away quickly. You shouldn’t need to take any downtime breaks from your normal routine.
